Cycling Across Greece. Corfu
Cycling across Greece was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
What touched me the most was the warmth of the children. Wherever I went, they greeted me with genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and kindness. Their smiles and enthusiasm became some of my most treasured memories of the trip.
Another wonderful surprise was discovering the strong community of urban cyclists across the country. For many years, they have worked passionately to promote cycling and support safe, well-connected cycling networks in their cities. Meeting so many people who shared the same love for bikes reminded me that cycling is much more than a way to travel—it is a way to bring people together.
One of the places that will always remain in my heart is Corfu.
There, I met many local cyclists who welcomed me as a friend. We walked together around the island, shared great conversations, exchanged experiences and celebrated our shared passion for cycling.
Corfu was also the last stop on my cycling journey across Greece before continuing my adventure to Italy.
On my last evening in Greece, I stood by the sea, watching the moonlight reflect on the water. As I looked out over the horizon, hundreds of memories flooded back – faces, landscapes, conversations, laughter and countless moments of kindness that I had experienced while cycling through this extraordinary country.
I will always be grateful to every person – both small and large – who welcomed me with such generosity and hospitality.
Whenever I think of Greece, I remember not only its magnificent landscapes, but especially its people.
And whenever I think of Corfu, I remember that last night before the trip to Italy — a quiet moment under the moon, carrying with me a heart full of unforgettable memories.
